"The Final March Thaw"

"Final March Thaw"  Oil, 18" x 24"  $975 framed

2014 has been such a cold, cold winter, but in March we could feel spring in the air.  This is a favorite creek of mine just west of Brookston.  This same view was the subject for one of my 12" x 16" winter paintings, "Snowy Marsh".  What a difference a month makes.  With warmer weather comes fog and misty, cloudy days, so subtly beautiful.

Now, in the middle of April, I'm putting my paints and brushes into a backpack to go painting plein air.  We could still get a snow, but not likely.

The Indiana Artists Club is now having its annual juried exhibition at the Indianapolis Museum of Art. The juror was the new IMA Director, Dr. Charles Venable.  With just 44 chosen from about 150, I am happy to have "Snow Fence" hanging in that exhibit.  The Awards Reception will be April 27th at 2pm.  If you can, please come to see the paintings and enjoy the refreshments.   It will be up through June 8th.

Thank you for being interested in my painting life, and please share this with your friends who may also enjoy  it.  And you know your comments are always nice to receive.
